Mikaela’s Mutt Motel

Our Mission

Our mission at Mikaela’s Mutt Motel is to rescue stray, neglected, and unwanted dogs. We foster our rescues providing love, care, and training until they are prepared for adoption into the families they deserve.

We are a non-profit dog rescue located in Clarksville, TN. Our founder and namesake, Mikaela, began fostering dogs in 2016 while serving in the United States Army because she has a life-long love for dogs. Because of her effort and hard work, she received the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal (1, 2). In May 2022, Mikaela decided the dogs often-overlooked, such as those with medical or behavioral conditions, needed special attention and Mikaela’s Mutt Motel was made official.

Since our inception in 2022, we have taken in (and placed) over 100 Mutts. Because of our focus on behavioral and medical concerns, our biggest expense is the medical care we provide to each Mutt from heartworm testing and prevention to spay/neuter procedures. Additionally, we have undertaken heartworm treatments, TPLO surgeries, and ocular surgeries. If we did not have the continued support of our followers, then none of this would be possible.

We are extremely grateful for all of our donors, adopters, volunteers, and supporters. With your help (and your votes) we achieved Clarksville’s Best Non-profit Organization in 2023. As a result of this achievement, we received a comprehensive media package from 5 Star Media Group.

Selected as a beneficiary of the 27th Annual Best of Clarksville Fundraiser, for which community members donate to vote for their favorite businesses, we a received portion of the proceeds from the event. Following the event, we visited with Clarksville Rotary and received our award.
